    My Weeping Fig/Ficus Benjamina

I bought this tree as a braided tree with 4 trunks coiled together. Well I took them apart a few months ago and now the have grown in top soil, pine bark, and builders sand. I am not sure if any of you have heard of someone doing this but I thought it didn't look very 'Bonsai'ish to me. They...

    Somewhat new to Bonsai.

Found this SEVIN-5 Ready-To-Use. Made by GardenTech. Idk if it's safe on my plants so I came to you all :) Also for the thrips, I removed all infected leaves and now waiting to see if they come back. If they do, I will defoliate all the leaves (since they need it anyways) and again see if...

The only time I do re-pot is when they are not doing well or their roots are too well packed in the pot it came in. I have not re-potted any plants twice to rush things. All my trees have been in these pots since I bought them and much longer before then. That's why I want the soil so I can...

I want to have these ingredients at hand for my plants since I have 12 pre-bonsai plants that I will be putting into plastic bonsai pots till I get the ceramic pots. I will be acquiring Eric's soil when I travel there this summer. But with 12 plants, I need a good amount of soil and I have a...

I looked online for the long-fiber so I will have to go tomorrow and get it. I don't know why but I'm leaning toward the Tropical Mimosa... And doesn't boxwood smell like cat pee?!

Went to Lowe's, I told them Black Medallion mulch and they brought me to this black COLORED mulch.. I swear, these people in Florida are not very smart. So I went to Home Depot (Love them much better), and they said they didn't have it. So I think I might just go for the snake bedding mulch...

I guess I can go out today and look. I know people say that Moltan is helpful. I can buy Cactus Soil and mix it with the Moltan for now. Then when I go to Wigert's this summer, I think I'll buy atleast 5 galloons of soil (just to hold me to after christmas). So I can then buy bulk of things...

I thought I posted my age before but I guess not. :) I did some looking around, non of the hardware stores or Lowes/Home Depot had anything small enough like Hardwood mulch... I guess I'm out of luck... I could make a sifter if I had something to sift.

You mean the Genuine Parts Company? And I guess I'll go look for that stuff. There is no where near me that has 'composted pine bark'. But I know Home Depot sells 'Pine Bark Nuggets'. Is that the same? And unless I buy haydite online, there is nowhere near that sells it. Any substitutions...

I didn't think anyone knew about his place but actually I'm visiting his place this summer. I can't do any classes though since they start at 9am and my parents have to bring me. (I AM ONLY 14) I have talked to Erik and Andrea (his wife) about coming this summer. They will be meeting with me...

    Ligustrum problem.

I bought this 1 1/2 foot tall Ligustrum tree from my local Flea Market just recently. The thing I'm worried about is I took it from a pot that was 3 times the size of the one it's in now. The roots were so packed in the soil, there was more roots than soil. I put it in this smallish Bonsai...

I hope I helped a little. Oh I forgot. The spray. The soap CANNOT BE detergent. Use regular hand soap or .. Palmolive (what I use). Concentrated dish liquid.

Chinese Elm growing and losing leaves

I'm not sure if people will agree with me, but when my Chinese Elm started doing bad. I removed EVERY SINGLE leaf that was on that tree. Watered it once every 2 days. Sprayed it with a soapy spray and let nature take it's course. The spider's I might say are Red Spider Mites. They are very...

Thanks for all the advice, I truely appreciate it. Thanks for the welcome treebeard55 (: I have been looking for places that I can buy stuff to make my own but unfortunately I come out short. All that is available to me is top soil, miracle grow, compost, moltan, and.. spagnum peat moss. I...

    Ants!

What I use is a soap spray for mostly any bug that appears on my trees. Make sure it's not dishwasher detergent. More like hand soap or the bacterial soap.

I also believed it to be some root problem too. I have re-potted two of my plants in the last few weeks. I have one soil that is made up of pine bark, calcined clay, and spagnum peat moss. The other I use is Miracle Grow Moist Control and Spagnum peat moss. The ficus is in the same starter...
