Where to buy mume in NY/ USA?

Hey guys, been looking online for some prebonsai/saplings of mume and seem to be hitting a dead end. Especially looking for bright pink like the beni-chidori or almost red color variety. Would anyone know where I could get one locally or online?

That kobai is beautiful! I've been looking for mume and having a hard time finding them, even online. I'm in queens and wondering where you guys got your mume from? Especially looking for bright pink/red specimens like to kobai.

Should I dig it up and pot it?

Go for it in my opinion. Even if it dies you will learn from that experience. Everybody kills trees and as long as you grow and learn from every death. Its fine by me.

I think thats out of my comfort level. The bark is like 3/4" in some areas and I'd have no idea how to even slice a clean slit into the cambium with all that bark. Thank you for the suggestion though. I appreciate hearing peoples suggestions.

whoaaaa you actually did it. I thought u were being kinda sarcastic when you told me that lol. You definitely have balls of steel. You added so much more character to that treee! Great job. I have another pine of similar size to yours. I may have to get it a try on that one.

I've done a few approach grafts. Where are you thinking it needs grafts? I'm still not even sure how this tree will be styled or how to incorporate that left branch into the design.

Help with pine borer beetles PLEASE

I already have the liquid bayer would it be overkill if I treated the roots with that AND put the granules at the same time? To get immediate effect and a long lasting slow release one.

Help with pine borer beetles PLEASE

I just bought bayer tree and shrub in the granuole form and will be treating the trees. I think if they did lay eggs they will be hatching soon and I wanna make sure they die asap.

Help with pine borer beetles PLEASE

So first confirm if these are them. I found 2 of these today on 1 large tree I recently worked on but the tree showed no signs of any larva burrowing inside while I was carving it. I saw another one, two days ago on the same tree and 1 on a different JBP today. I'll be going out every night...

I hope it'll be ok too. Pretty sure the branches i have will live just worried that parts of the trunk may die off near the back and side. Time will tell I guess. Counting the rings at the top most cut it was about 20-25 years old. So I'm assuming if i was able to count lower on the trunk it...

Which front do you guys prefer? This was the original I was going with but after removing so much bark I'm not sure if its the best anymore. Second option. Ignore the branches sticking out on the left. Those can be easily cut and wont be seen.
