A new place to buy and sell trees.

The question was asked, why another site? It was answered with why we felt another site was necessary, that's all.

try the bonsai sales page then. Less moving parts. Give it some time to build some momentum

A new place to buy and sell trees.

The monetary incentive was a goodwill gesture started by Bob Pressler. It was long awaited and long overdue. It's certainly not something we count on. But you are right it's not 100% selfless. The four moderators all have bonsai and bonsai wares they want to sell. This will help us and many...

A new place to buy and sell trees.

I hate to say this but it worked out with Stacy because I got involved and smoothed out the wrinkles otherwise who knows. Mark was great at taking ideas and implementing them. His intentions were always golden. Unfortunately some of changes and attitude towards correcting those changes rubbed...

There will undoubtedly be some form of disatisfaction and/or drama, but the bottom line is we aim to please. We aim to be the best possible Facebook hosted bonsai auction site. There's 4 of us to help make that happen. The sad thing about the mention above about the scrolls is those differences...

For some reason aikoudo jp is ridiculously expensive for shipping. Way more than any other Japanese seller. I tried reasoning with them but there's no budging

    "V" Notching Made Easy

i think maybe you are taking it a little to serious. sure the foam is more rigid than most heartwood but I think it serves as a good demo

    "V" Notching Made Easy

I actually like the similarity of the foam board to a tree branch. The inner heartwood is typically brittle not unlike the foam with the outer cambium being the only portion with elasticity or fiber not unlike the paper bonded on the outside of the foam.

    "V" Notching Made Easy

I agree that splitting, cutting, or tearing at the crotch can be a viable solution for a particular need. With most things in life, rules, techniques, methods, etc arent often one sized fits all nor is there many ways to skin a cat. There is "always" the best tool for the job, the best technique...

Stop saying "cant", its almost as if its a direct challenge :) I have one that developed knees while in a black plastic liner after it had grown roots through the holes in the pot and into the ground. Was never grown in water.

    Trunk chop tool

For anything over 1" I strongly suggest sawzall or any other reciprocating saw. The vibrating is caused by letting the saw take the tree. You need to hold the tree or branch firmly and make sure the base of the saw is firmly against the branch or trunk and it will then cut like a hot knife...

    question about exhibiting trees

im curious as to why you put the moss on weeks in advance? I prefer almost immediately before show, that way I dont have to worry about catering to the moss and perhaps hurting my tree by constantly watering the moss.
