Just finished thinning out of my maple forest, time to move it into filtered light for the hot summer months,

This is my first Hinoki, it'd about 50 years old. I need some recommendations on a new pot for it, as you can see the present pot is butt ugly;) any advice on this tree would be appreciated also. Pruning, thinning and styling advice.

Question for you guys, when it comes to cascades, must the tree be positioned either going left or right to the viewer? Or can the tree be kinda coming towards the viewer with the trunk in the background?...Also...is it ok to style Cascades in a manner that can be viewed with 2 fronts?
