    I found some other threads here (eg. https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/juniper-x-media.23992/) and some online articles. Apparently juniperus x-media refers to hybrids of chinensis and sabina junipers. The names after that refer to the cultivar.

    What it was labelled as when purchased. I have seen x-media used in many nurseries - eg. X-media shimpaku, x-media sargentii, x-media Blauws. Whether they are not labelled correctly or are crosses/hybrids, i do not know.
