    Ginseng Ficus Question (Problem?)

I was thinking it was just a stain as well. some of my ficus have such marks, and they are green underneath. if it were my tree, I would either take a toothbrush and some water and test clean a small spot, and/or scratch off a tiny pit of bark to see if there's green underneath.. :D good luck

    Just purchased Semi Cascade Shinpaku

Purchased last year in spring. I created the deadwood on the maple. It also suffered last summer as a result, and had some trunk die off last winter due to some leaves and stuff that piled up too high around the base. lessons learned.. The tree is thriving this year. It really has hardly any big...

Two salvaged old boxwoods from my yard

I had them in the shade for a few weeks after collection, and they stayed green. a few leaves here and there died off, but mostly no change. no new growth yet. when poink suggested sun, I put them in a sunny spot. I didn't water them a ton until then, but the sun was causing the soil to dry...

maybe its just me, but this tree seems to be getting more and more yellow. its by far the deepest pot of all my trees, and I even bought a water meter because im having a hard time gauging. seems to stay much wetter right in the middle, under the trunk.. we had a lot of rain early on since I...

Two salvaged old boxwoods from my yard

so its been about two weeks.. though the trees aren't dead, they did have some random leaves die and so far I see no new growth. Dario or anyone know how long before I should start seeing something? i've kept them in the shade and hopefully watered properly.

Looking for help with tree selection

ive gradually learned that seeds or saplings are fine, so long as you have a wide variety of other trees at other stages of development. it sure makes it easier to stay patient with some trees, while you torture others ;)

hi, and welcome. im about as new as you here on the forum! :o i just spent the last 3-4 years growing out a japanese lace leaf in a large wooden box. amazes me just how much it thickened, and how much the nebari improved. i repotted it this spring and did some work to comb the roots out. i...

    Stolen plant.

i keep mine in the back yard. out of sight. i also dont advertise what i have. that goes for anything i own. i noticed the last time i went to portland nursery that they actually chain some of their pricey big trees by the trunk! as ugly as that is, its tempting. better than losing it to a jack...

Two salvaged old boxwoods from my yard

I was rather aggressive and pressed for time, but managed to get em cleaned up and in pots. Getting them out of the ground was surprisingly easy.. There were some large roots, but thankfully a good mass of feeder roots very close to the base. In the process of hosing them down(which may or may...

Two salvaged old boxwoods from my yard
