I had the opportunity today to roam a friends densely wooded property with permission to dig up whatever I'd like. I found 3 maples and one other unknown tree with shoots near the base.

I have a big ol' tree of heaven in the back of my property. It has recently sprung up a TON of little seedlings, or possibly suckers from the root system. The thing about this tree is how fast it grows. I have some that I cut down to the ground two years ago and then forgot about, and...
So Id like to do a very tiny tree. Maybe 3 or 4 inches. I got this little barberry for 4 bucks. It has a lot of nice branches to work with. I think i have an idea but id like to get some opinions first.
Is it okay to clip the thorns off?
Well, I've made some cuts to this guy already but I'd like to post the before pictures and see what you guys would have done.

Alrighty, here's what I did.
Grand opening was yesterday. (Sunday May 19th) My expectations for this (been in anticipation for about 5 years) were highly exceeded.
Keep an eye out for the show-stopper uprooted style cypress.
Also, the way I uploaded, the bottom of the page are the trees at the entrance of the exhibit...
