I started this tree from an air-layer that I separated from the mother in 2015. I planted it on the rock in 2016. In December 2018 I gave it to my brother in law for his birthday. In spring 2021 I stole it back to re-shape it. The pictures below are Dec. 9 2018

Feb. '18: Wild strawberries, a red flowering grass, moss and I don't remember the small greenery in front of the rock but is has small purple flowers in spring. My first; tell me what you think!

aka Ficus Retusa, aka... I purchased in 2014, but this is the earliest picture I have on 3/21/2015. This picture was taken about 3 weeks after defoliating. You can see all the wire marks from the previous owner, not a big deal; they should heal as the tree is grown out.

Set the branches on this cedar back in February of this year. I'll thin it out as I decide on what to keep. I like subtle curves of the trunk.

I took this tree out of a training pot and put it into a basket; it needs to develop stronger roots and more mass before going back into a training pot. This is my first 'Corker', I do not know the variety.

2013 - long needles and internodes, leggy growth.

Repotted 9/27/15 Carved deadwood and set branches. There is a slight bend at the soil level that doesn't show in these pictures; in these images the tachiagari looks very straight.

This is an interesting tree; naturally exposed roots, white bark and reddish leaves are quite attractive. I cut the trunk down 2 years ago where there was no growth. It responded with by throwing several strong shoots, essentially what you see today. The trunk will be hollowed out early...
