Update- tree has almost certainly died.

I've asked elsewhere and they've suggested it might be in a dormant state from not getting any rest in the winter. This seems incredibly likely if the roots are in good condition. Anyone ever broken a tree from dormancy or had this happen? The lady suggests refrigerating it.

Hi, thanks for the replies - it is outside (on a windowsill) but I've not seen any new growth for the last two weeks. It does have one thick green branch which has just been getting fatter without any leaves (I didn't know this could happen?). Is this normal?
