Its got a good future and is way bigger than it looks. I usually like huge strong trunks but this is a taller specimen. Has nice ruff bark.

Not all cedar is equal and I knew that but still built top of my benches out of Lowes cedar and in 9 months they where rotten. Redid them with 2x10" treated lumber on solid 4x4 cedar posts. I guess I will get more than 9 months out this one.

I got this tree in a trade I did this year so it is a little stressed for aggressive repotting by previous owner. In spring I will get it into a pot that will keep roots healthier and happy but until then I need sun on the lower branch. So I took the sun to the branch with mirrors.

Had some fun this week and did a big bend to make some future deadwood after splitting of a live vein. Will recover for a good while and then remove the thick straight part on right and the I will start growing out a short powerful tree.

Ok here are some pictures I don't understand whats going on I spray every 2 weeks as a preventive especially here in NC where the humidity is a killer. Its not the whole plant but I spray under and upper leaf with Daconil in backpack sprayer. Any Suggestions on this.

Had some down time today approch grafted 6 kishu juniper allowed me to do 13 grafts as each one was muli trunk. Put them on my big collected California juniper. Her is before photo. After photo is a year or 2 off because it just looks like giant bush with all the grafts on. Just as reference...

Has anyone used any of the advance nutrients fertilizers. It's a very compartmentalized line to give you isolated results with different product lines to taylor them to you trees needs. Was just wondering if any bonsai folks had tried them.
