My girlfriend and I went for a little walk through the horticultural garden here at Virginia Tech and I found all sorts of trident and jap. Maple seedlings. I can't believe I payed $$ for those things a few months ago. Now I know!

I got a good deal on this ficus and I wanted to have a tree to look at in my apartment in the winter!

Sooo all my leaves are off now and I wired up some of the branches. I just got a few books in the mail and as I read it said to resist from wiring in winter. Oops well I did and I was wondering if that was ok or should I take the wire off and save it for spring time before buds swell?

Would this make a bonsai? Its got some decent trunk movement, but its kind of big. Any thoughts?:confused:

I find these little guys all of the golf course I work at. Some of them look like they could be decent potensai.

Any thoughts/ideas about what could do with the smaller one? I think the bigger one i'm going to try and keep it about that size. (12" tall 2"base) I just need to fill it out some.

I have a chopped trident and part of the top of it is rotten. I need some help on what to do, where to cut, etc.
