Thank you! In general, is there a general feeling that starting from collecting roots and all vs a cutting is considered better or safer or easier to start out with? Things outside are starting to bud, so I'm starting to get antsy to go out and gather!

Hi, neighbor. :) I'm the other new Colorado person, but I've only lived here for a year and a half. I'm not to bonsai too, not just the forum. :( I'm so used to growing things in the Chicago climate where I lived for 30 years, to start bonsai AFTER moving here has been... a bit defeating. :(...

Oh, collecting them!! Yeah, every time we walk the dogs out on the trails now, I see thing I want to bring home, my husband already thinks I'm crazy! I already killed one and replaced it with two?? Lol, he's not really a plant guy, so we'll see how this goes. :P
