Okay so I will put it in a bigger pot and remove the wiring. At the moment it mostly has soil from when I bought it so I am not exactly sure the type, but it is growing outside and I am located in 10b .

I wired it loosely because ficus are known to grow quickly (which I learned from google) and I did not want the wires to cut into the bark. I figured someone would say to chop it but I think the trunk makes it unique. Don't think the aerial roots can make it look better later on?

These bridges are grown by ficus elastica by generations of families. I am new to bonsai but I think it would be an awesome project to replicated these structures, although some may not consider it traditional. Either way, I figured some of you would find this very interesting.

Thanks for the tips :D I just used some organic bonsai soil from a near by nursery. Hopefully I can keep them alive long enough for them to become real bonsai haha from what I have seen most of these trees are fairly hardy and will be good to learn with
