I am in the UK. I have trimmed the leaves back a bit but will take advice on the repotting. Would I at least be able to cut it right back and do something like chuhin or shohin?

This is my first post so a big hello. I have just purchased this Berberies and I have been told it's to late to repot. If I was to go ahead and repot now and also an extensive prune/style, will I kill it?
