I put my hand under one of the foliage pads and then gave it a shake. I seen black pepper sized bugs move in the palm of my hand. Looks like it is mites. So I put some all purpose insect killer on yesterday. This morning a lot of them are dead. But I will continue to spray.

I'm looking into buying a J larch. This is a new species to me, What care does it need in the winter? Once dormant can it be put in the shed like a J maple?
Here's a better look at the tree now that the leaves have falling off and a lot buds have appeared. I might trim the canopy branches and wire downward making a dome shape.
