    Thanks for the replies; Ed, that's a good tip--that's exactly the kind of place I'm looking for, as it appears that they do bonsai and not much else. I'm finding out the nurseries/greenhouses have their focus elsewhere, and bonsai are a whole different kettle o' fish. I don't get out that way...

    Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! Paradox, that suggestion about the "simulated Fall cooling" seems to make a lot of sense. I should work on that sooner rather than later--I'll be away for a week around Christmas, so i need to have it established somewhere to take the pressure...
