    Ficus 'Too Little' ror progressioin

Thanks LanceMac Since I grow indoors exclusively in frigid and dry Chicago weather and ficus 'too little' being a Benjamina cultivar, in my limited experience its very susceptible to die backs. I am always hesitant to trim it back really hard without at least live 3 nodes on the branch. You...

introduction and a few questions on Indoor

Growing indoors is not impossible. The key is growing the right tree. Ficus are good candidates and very forgiving. I have been growing indoors exclusively for years here in cold Chicago with some success. No "world class tree" but I have grown trees that I'm very proud of. I grow as low tech...

    Spider Mites!!!

Spider mites.... In my case with a small collection, hosing down the trees including all branches and underside of leaves every time you water. If i notice any pest on one of my trees, I normally hose all of my trees and houseplant for a month and works like a charm. Hope that helps Eric

    Big Trunk

Hi Ryan, First of all, If this is my tree, I would let it acclimate before doing anything on it. This is a good candidate for a spring project. Try to envision the tree as one big trunk rather than a clump. Think of them as your main branches. A season of mossing the trunk to develop the...

    Big Trunk

Hi Ryan, This is what I see on this tree. IMO, this can be achieve in a shorter time than using this material to make a sumo style tree. Hope that helps Eric

    Centipede or milipedes

10 to 15 min will not harm your trees, you spray the leaves and branches with water you can definitely knock off any climbers. ;) Bdw, since I grow indoors all year, in my experience spraying down your trees with water every time you water will prevent insect infestation. Hope that helps...
