    Root prune and re-pot.

Now that we are in winter over here (Australia) and my trident maples and elm have dropped their leaves, is it ok to start root pruning them and re-pot or should I wait until spring?

    Olive, first time carving.

This is one of 3 olive tree stumps I dug up over 6 months ago. They have had to be cut back a number of times. They have been powering along really well. Now I have decided to have a go at carving. I've never done it before but thought I might give it try. This is all I have taken out...

    I.D help

I'm not sure what this tree is, a few people have said it could be a Mexican White Cedar. A friend of mine was going to through it out, he didn't like the way he had wired it so I took it. Any ideas??

    My swamp cypress

I bought this for $80 on the weekend. I've always a decent sized swamp cypress to play with. Even though it has its autum colours it still has some fresh green shoots coming through.

    Care of Sequoiadendron?

I am a little confused on how to care for my two Sequoiadendrons. Some sites say not to let them dry out between watering and other sites say the opposite. I have them in a spot where they get 5 - 6 hours of direct sunlight in the morning. Is that enough or should they get more sunlight?

    Ficus elastica

Here is a Ficus elastica I rescued from my mums place almost 12 months ago. When I first got it, it was over 6ft tall, very sad looking and very few leaves. When I brought it home I cut it down to about 2ft and just kept feeding it. I think it is looking rather healthy these days.

    Wollemi Pine

I finally decided to get myself a Wollemi Pine. Most people I talk to don't like them and think they are ugly. Me, I think they are beautiful. This is the only tree in my collection that WONT become a bonsai though. I will stick it in a bigger pot and let it go.

    Dawn Redwood

I picked up this Dawn Redwood from a local nursery a few weeks back. It was in a small 6inch pot so I stuck it in a larger pot so it can get a bit fatter. It is almost 5ft tall. Not a bad buy for $15
