I dug this trident today. It had a strange root system . I am going to see if the root part will grow? What do you all think?

I could not go to the shohin convention and not buy a tree from Gary Ishii Chikugo -En nursery. They have great trees. The trunk is great. I pruned the tree and repotted it . Next year I will pot into a bonsai pot.

This tree has been in my growing area for about four years. I candled and fall cut back the last two years. Now I will let it grow in the traing pot for one year and then start to style this tree .

We started our Bonsai basics class of 2012 this past Saturday. The first project is a fused Japanese maples. a plastic disk is used drilled and seedlings pushed through the holes. We also dug some we did last year. We took off the disk and replanted in the field.

Who is planning on going? I will be teaching workshops. It is always lots of fun. If you can you should check it out! The lottery is coming up soon for the workshops.
