borers

Hi guys, found this on the deadwood of my juniper. The brown/copper-looking dots on the wet deadwood. Don't know what this is. Is it a borer? Seemed to appear overnight after a hot humid day. I picked it off with my fingers with no problem. Sprayed with some insecticide. Does anyone know...
