I bought this Ginkgo for $1 at the Dallas club's auction (3 yrs ago I think?) and I had it in a big pot like you'd use out on a deck or something. I wasn't planning on making it a bonsai because the roots were all jacked up and it looked a mess, and obviously everyone at the auction passed on it, as evidenced by the price. Anyway, it grew pretty tall, got chewed on by the dogs a bit, turned a nice yellow in the fall, and to make a long story short I decided to hack it down to size and stick it in a terribly turquoise bonsai pot, which was about the only option I had that was the right size. It responded pretty well I think, and from a bare trunk it has sprouted new growth all over. I guess I'm aiming for the "candle-flame" shape for this one in the long run. Here it is in all its glory, and I would appreciate any tips or suggestions. Thanks.
