Please someone buy this book, so that I don’t breakdown and buy it! Anyone heard of the author? It sounds like it has images from the first two Kokufu-ten but was not the official album.

Looks in rough shape. Wonder why the seller has only a single photo and not a few of the contents...but for $150 not bad if you're in to old mostly irrelevant books that you will probably look through once and put on a shelf. Bonsai has changed dramatically since 1934 and I'd bet you will look at the photos and say "meh. They didn't know how to style very well back then..."

Great album with beautiful B&W photos, tissue paper between each page. Some famous bonsai are depicted including “Fudo” Sargent juniper from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It was not shown often so this is a rare photo. I’m not sure that all the bonsai were in the Kokufu bonsai Exhibition

Or probably 50 years from now, look at the pictures of the kokufu ten of today and say "those trees look like plastic" ...

It would be nice to see the design of the stands they were using at the time.

I would go for it if ti wasn't in the USA. Getting it shipped here would cost and also would have to pay taxes and VAT :-(
