Imperial Masterpiece
These two white spruce were wild collected in Maine and purchased last year from a seller on eBay. I am posting this to acknowledge that wild collected trees can already tell us what they have in mind for their training. They have been planted and other than removing a bit of top growth on the taller plant, they have not been touched. My plan is for a mother daughter combination where the mother is encouraging the daughter to leave and find a life of her own.
They will begin training now. Smaller plant will be wired down a bit and larger plant will be encouraged to grow and increase in vigor. I am going to attempt to fertilize the mother by using liquid fertilizer only on the mother and let her nurse the daughter.
I have no posts here of plants I am tracking so this could be a good start toward this endeavor.
BTW, they are planted in an oil pan from NAPA. It is very heavy duty, great shape and only needed drainage holes provided.
