2 more babies to play with...

So hubby surprised me with 2 more pre-pre-bonsai, God i love this man! a bucida spinosa and a JM. The JM will for sure die but i'm gonna give it 100 percent, the spiny black olive will be just fine. They are both in growers containers and will need to be upsized, soon. should i wait until spring? for the JM, should i give it more bark in the soil because of the horrendous heat in summer, would that help keep it cooler? should I use protek? There is a spot on my Balcony that only gets morning sun so I'm guessing there. Anyone out there have any advice or should I just get out its tombstone now? LOL

Hopefully a person more familiar with JM in your climate will pipe in, but my understanding is that this is largely cultivar dependent. Best of luck.
