Here are 3 olive stumps I collected about 4 months agao.
I'm doing a course in Conservation and Land Management. I told my teacher I wanted to collect some nice olives. He said "how about we dig up this olive?".
Where I live olives are classed as weeds.
The stumps looked like they where individual stumps but after using a bob cat to dig them up they all came from one big root ball.

Wow, those look very large. Good thing you had a bobcat!

I've never done any carving before so I look forward to see what I can do with these olives.
I thought my teacher was joking when he said lets dig this one up.
It was 3 metres tall before we attacked it with chainsaws.

Man the massive trunk in the white container that is beside the blue container looks like a mountain with trees growing on it. I bet these will make very unique Bonsai, good luck with them and keep 'em green. Don't forget to give us an update.

By the way are you in summer " down there " ?

The trunk in the middle is certainly a monster.
I have never played with trunks like this before so it's all new to me.
I've just been giving them plenty of food to get them going.

It is indeed summer "down here" now.
Getting some very hot days, doesn't seem to worry the olives though.
