An interesting (albeit expensive) bonsai stand on sale in Japan for about $2000. Design is pretty self-explanatory.

Expensive indeed! One can make one out of wood for under $100. Thanks for the plans an idea:)

What I love are the micro-leveling feet :) I have a hard time imagining myself adjusting my planting angle by fractions of a degree. More importantly, I'd micro-adjust it on the stand, and then start to repot, and only roughly get back to the same level once the tree was in the pot. Of course then the soil would settle and the tree would shift a tenth of a degree and the whole bonsai would be RUINED! :)

LOL, I don't have any bonsai that require a 10th of a degree, but I will be making one for sure.

Have you ever tried really levelling anything with FOUR feet? Sheesh!

Actually, now that i look closer at the design, I don't think those are for leveling the way I thought they were. There are heavy casters underneath the stand. I assume you roll it into place, and then lower the screws to give you a stable work platform.

Here is a better photo. I went back to the site and got the dimensions, and then added a Coke can in scale. It is bigger than it looks in the close up photos. It is really three levels:

(1) The large base with casters and four screw legs.
(2) A turntable with three locking screws.
(3) A circular platform with a large ball joint with four locking screws.

Not sure what the thumbscrews on the highest platform are for.
