This is the other half of my $4 pine post. This pine was straight and had nothing interesting. I slip potted it into an Anderson flat and chopped it.

Over time I lowered the larger two branches with guy wires. I think I am going to chop it and get more aggressive branch movement over the next couple years.

The redline is the rough planting angle. The blue lines will be chops. And yellow is the rough final BD1D6CD1-9768-4748-8CC3-884313C2712B.jpeg69C92FD4-2E85-4E86-B21B-111C9C12A719.jpegdesign.D1C0DE3D-7880-4DE4-8E5E-2E920D739F27.jpeg

I think you should think about your proposed trunk line (yellow line) and consider whether whether a "Z" is a convincing grow pattern for a tree.

You have another branch closer to the main trunk that would make a more convincing line if you used that as your new trunkline.
This side shows off the nicer nebari, which are very nice.

you are crushing the one shoot that is close to the main trunk with wire. If it were wired up, it might make a better trunkline rather than a "Z"

That’s interesting, I might just add some more grafts and make it a smaller tree

None of my grafts took. So I cleaned it up, wired and cut back.
Before and after. I’ll let it grow this year, probably candle prune the lower left branch, try and get some buds to pop closer to the trunk.
