I collected these Yaupon Holly around 4 months ago....They are not as pretty and green as they were when I collected them....I would guess between the cold temps and low light in the garage when it's below freezing that has something to do with it.....? I hope they all pull thru....The (2) I drastically cut back have put on new growth and they have only seen frost once. I thought they would be OK over night but nope...It was a heavy frost and it killed some of the small tiny leaves....That was about 3 weeks ago. Here are the pics.....One from each side and then a few close up of the foliage from each of the 4.

Below is a link to the pics....

You're almost there, Brian. They seem to be holding their own despite the fairly cold winter we've had. I wouldn't worry too much about frost as long as you don't have new, unhardened off growth on them...you just don't want the soil to freeze. You'll hopefully be able to leave them outside for good by the end of February...then watch them take off!

Sorry my southern slang is showing in that post above....The back drop is our enclosed trailer....The comment about the cap was in regards to the brick wall I have been working on in my bonsai area. All I have left to do is lay the granite cap stone.

You should get some nice protection with that area being sunken like that. Very nice.
