Here is a seedling I planted in this cheesy pot recently. It still has green, but if I had waited it would probably have been mown.
this one is destined for a wee Sorce 1/2” deep little glazed beauty.
it is on the bench next to my toiletree. It’s a swamp ash, in a toiled lid.

Curious about your swamp ash / toilet tree 😆.
Did you happen to collect it on the East or West coast of FL? I'd like to see an updated photo of it if it's still in your collection.

Almost dead center, a few miles North of Lake Okeechobee.
I’ll take pictures this afternoon. I have a few ashes, the pretty time has passed with the new purple shiny leaves opening. All early in training, but I think at least one has potential.

I have a river birch from North/Central Florida but your ash tree might inspire me to make a road trip! I'm about an hour SW of Lake Okeechobee.
Thanks for sharing the tree and your experience with it.

what the heck is bulgarian white sheep in brine? Is it what it sounds like? pickled mutton?

It is a most excellent pickled cheese.
Like Feta in form and texture, but more smoother and more flavor.

I’ll get some pics of my ashes today.
Everything has been hectic lately and I got home after dark and forgot.
Then the next day happened.

I didn't mean to hijack your bald cypress thread with questions about your swamp ashes but I do find those very interesting. I have to track one of those down! Thank you for the photos. The swamp ashes don't seem to grow in the SW portion of Lake Okeechobee. I went to fisheating creek and other random places closer to me looking for one this spring but they are elusive! :D

No sweat.
I would think there might be some in the Fisheating creek area, mine were from only a few miles north of there. And I got them while looking at cypress trees so there is a connection. I used to spend a little time on Fisheating Creek and Finsheating bay. It’s a pretty area.
