Just a consideration.. a hazelnut forest planting.. with this little clone colony I located and collected. These are NOT “arranged”... just potted for growth.

Upon observing these pictures...

These lil’ guys actually put on some trunk this winter.. frozen in a block of ice...

I pruned back to visible swelling buds... i’m taking it slow with these fellers.

So far.. only one budded out.. but there is still “life” left in all but one other trunk...

The EXCITING part is..Looking at the original pictures of the foliage Corylus Americana appears to respond, in terms of foliage reduction, to inorganic, aggregate substrate.

Well .. they became rabbit food before I could really "feel them out"..
