Nice. The change in planting angle will help quite a bit.
Thank you! I thought it was an elegant solution to "the weird" 😂

I'm hoping for some better(lower on the primary) branch-leading options on that upper-right... I'm considering pruning it back further, to NOT even "give it other options".

So much vigor was noted DIRECTLY following budbreak, that I decided to clip those "wings" a little, get some growth were it matters. 🤓

Maintenance, "wood work" and light shaping

Couldn't get the new proposed angle "right" for the shot... but you get the idea.

Well... (My apologies, I cannot access my stockpile of photos from my non-functioning phone.)

Here we are... with the main Ulmus NOW... no more work for the season remaining.

Upon repot, I realized how poor the root system really was.

So I cut a strip around and buried it deep, in hopes of ground layering.

This one got the "early-bird" treatment and spent march and April in a heated greenhouse we slapped together.

It has been pushing non stop..for those three months.

So today I decided to test the tree, and performed branch selection to deter swelling and defoliation.
