As collected in early September, many individuals from an industrial subdivision lawn that has been mowed every so often, but not much maintenance other than that. So, these Mulberries are all under 4" tall. They are every size from the size of a quarter and maybe last year's seedling to some 8" in diameter that might be five years old. Here are three, all doing well in a candy container greenhouse that they will over-winter inside of...

The bigger ones were living on taproots that went way deep. I did the best I could to collect as much root as possible, but decided to chop most of the deep root off in favor of trying to grow roots from the upper parts of the crown in these candy container greenhouses. The two biggest ones went crispy pretty quick and probably won't make it, but I'll take what I can get.

I should restate that 8" diameter. Not a single trunk, but ramified by lawnmower into many trunks (branches) running sideways to reach out 8".
