My wife only allows bonsai in the den and my bathroom. I let her think she has something to say about it in exchange for services rendered. I can have something flowering in her greatroom where the best window in the house is, so she doesn't think about something "in flower" as a bonsai, it's, "flowers". That means I can have all the dwarf Roses I want, right? So, here is #1 of 3 new ones this fall, all 40% off....
There are some crossing branches, some too straight, more of them than a design would normally incorporate, but even though I have grown Roses for 50 years I can't say exactly how I need to have it trimmed going into winter. Normally, you lose the ends here and there and cane or two, but these will be protected better than yard Roses, so maybe I can keep more of the finer stuff but I won't know that for sure for a couple years, so there is more of everything than I'd want, just to cover all the bases and have enough to have a nice crown and maybe trim harder in springs to follow.
