A Couple Of New Pots

I visited the website, and I do like the simplicity of some of the pots. What I would ask is why are all the feet so short? I'd like to see a little more space under the pot on some of these, it would impart a bit more grace I think.

Thanks for your thoughts! I think the photos may be misleading to a degree. I definitely make sure to provide adequate space for wire, air and drainage. For what seems like correct proportions I cut the feet from the same slab that is the floor of the pot. As I have advanced in technique, the walls and floor have become thinner, making way for the stacked feet you see on most of my newer work, to provide said area for wire, air and proper drainage. I have seen some bonsai pots that seem to sit too high on the feet, throwing proportion out to my eye and I've tried to be concious of this in my work.

Cheers!

I think that part of it is also the width of the feet. Could be photo angles as well.

It's been a while... I had a very successful show on home turf last weekend at the Atlanta Bonsai Society's Spring Show. I don't have another show until December in Kannapolis, so I updated my website with a few items. You can see them at www.waldostreetpottery.com. Thanks for your support nutters!

Here's a new style I've been working with, the squared circle. After a few attempts I can't think of anything clever to say for sentence number two, so I'll just leave it at that.

It's been a while, here's an update in extremes. A belted oval 18x 14x 3.5" and a round textured shohin pot 5x 5x 1.75". See these live and in person at The Winter Silhouette Show in Kannapolis, NC Dec 2-3!

The first pot looks like it is carved out of wood.

What kind of glaze is the textured round? Is it metallic?

Thanks everyone. Source, I sent an inquiry to do the August show in Chicago and have not heard back. Put in a good word, I'll put in the miles.
