Since people liked my rocking chair, I thought I'd share a more modest project - a simple cutting board I made for my wife for Mother's Day. It's a little scratched because it's been in use since May, but you get the idea :)

Now that is a nice cutting board! I know a little something about woodworking myself...I used to be able to whittle the sharpest stick in my whole Indian Guides troop.

Very nice. One of my projects in Wood Shop II in high school was a cutting board--bird's eye maple and Mahoghany similar to this one, although nowhere near the level of detail involved here. Can't imagine trying to work out the gradation in rips...it would give me a headache:D.

I agree with you Si, I'd use that as a nice stand for something, too nice to mess up. Either that or a real nice gift.
