The volunteers are apparently untiring. Kudos to them from an appreciative admirer.
Does anyone else experience carpenter bees in huge numbers? They are in rare form in DC right now, and most always active. They seem to enjoy the lumber used in much of the museum displays outdoors. Luckily they are not aggressive to anything but other bees.

Yes, carpenter bees are thick in my area, and love boring into my benches and fence. I use a badminton racket and a 1x3 I keep on the bench to swat them, but they like hiding behind my favorite trees. The males are the ones you see buzzing around, and they don't have stingers, so its "game on" when I see them.

The trees all look super healthy! They are truly well cared for by people who know what they are doing.
