This is a local deer park i was lucky to get access to. I moved this thread as it didn't seem to be coming into the new posts.

Amazing , true national treasures and very inspiring !!

Quite astounding to say the least. Can you tell us what these trees are, I for one am curious... Were they used as coppice trees in the past?
Nice looking lad btw...

I still like the elephant man in the tree.

Wonderful old, old trees...humbling to think how long they've lived and what they've lived through. I'll bet they're Quercus robur, English oak. Thanks for the pictures, Smithy.

For a few years now, I've been doing the same and taking pics of older trees (or parts of them) that may be used as inspiration. None are as nice as the pics you posted though. :) I specially like the detail shots of the deadwood.

Thanks for sharing! :)

I thought deciduous trees didn't have deadwood? :)

Fantastic pictures, very inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

Wow...Awesome trees. Thanks for taking the time to take pictures and share them with us! I like the last photo with the jins sticking through the foliage. All these old trees look awesome. Very inspirational!

They do, just don't leave the deadwood white. Color it slightly grey.

Wow is right!!! Where is this park? It looks familiar to me...

Tolkien is smiling

"Wow" seems inadequate. I feel like I should kneel, or do something to show respect to the tree.

No wonder Ents appear in The Lord of the Rings! These trees look ready to take on goblins at a moment's notice. Thanks for getting to is it the part, for taking the photos, and then allowing us to see them.

Wow, these European trees are amazing. We can only strive to create such images in miniature, truly awe inspiring. Thanks for posting all of the pics, I will use them as a guide.
