Some unusual bonsai this guy Sunny has gotten some big dollars for some of his bonsai trees. People who pay those big bucks...pay for him to come and care for the tree to keep it alive.

Totally defies what we think of Nebari though...

The currency RM is Ringgit Malaysia, so the author is from Malaysia. One ringgit is roughly 25 cents, give or take a bit.

Clearly the Malaysian bonsai style sensibilities come more from the Chinese Penjing aesthetic. Exposed roots are more highly valued in Penjing.

I used a currency exchanger...came up with this. Still a lot of $$$ that is the right currency we're talking about...right?

I didn't know that about Chinese Penjing...
