This is a guava type ---------- not sure if it is Eugenia m or Myrcia a.
Given as a gift of seed. and then as a plant to K.
Maybe 2008 to .................................

The plant starts as what we call a ladder tree and then hopefully it has evolved
Enjoy.
Good Day

Notice how the tree is straightening itself.

Guavas as trees seldom have trunk diameters of over 12 inches. So this tree / shrub will be stabilised with a small trunk diameter.

Leaves presently are very small.

Here, there's another guava that is widely cultivated as well and is called Psidium cattleyanum. Looks very similar to what you have there.

There is not much information regarding its use for bonsai though... May be worth trying...

Hi Anthony,

any more photos of this guava tree? The transformation is incredible for such a short time. I have a guava too, this progression has already shown me a lot of what to expect in terms of growth with my own tree. Seeing the tree in her/his current stage would sure cement what I've gleaned from the thread so far!
cheers
