I collected this beast today and just hope it survives. It started out at a huge bush about 6ft by 8ft. Brought it home and chopped and chopped it down to about 18" tall and about 10" wide at the trunk.

I'm thinking multi-trunk. It has some fine roots and it now in some fine sand. (I put course sand on top because I ran out of fine)

New post will be it in a grow pot/raisin bin. I will be keeping it in the shade.

I wouldnt worry about sealing the wounds. I am liking the primary trunkline i see in the photo at your feet. Should be a powerful twin trunk if it makes it through.

Signs of life!

Here is an update. Less than two months later this tree is putting out some green growth. My only worry is that it is really low on the base. Hopefully it will push some up higher later?

My myrtle keeps pushing new growth, and higher up the trunk! Here is a pic. What kind of light should it be in? I have it in shade most of the day but it gets a few hours at the end of the day. Should I keep it here or move it into more sun? We are expecting almost 100 degrees this coming week.
