A New Home for My Trees

We bought our house about a year ago and this weekend I finished a major overhaul of our side yard to give my trees a home. Everything that I have is very much in pre-bonsai and development stage, but now they have a happy place to grow and improve. I can better control light and shade requirements for different species, and watering takes half the time with everything better consolidated. There is room for two to three more benches that I will get in over the next week or two so things aren't so cramped, but it feels like a very good start.IMG_0962.JPG IMG_0963.JPG IMG_0964.JPG IMG_0965.JPG IMG_0966.JPG

Nicely done. Any shots of the inside of the shed?
There's not too much to see there at the moment. It's a cold frame I built from repurposed sliding glass doors to protect more tender stuff from wind and weather in the depths of winter. There are shelves to work on and store trees, but not much else. It's also a wonderful place to work on stuff when it's raining here.

Great you gat a new home! Garden is awesome a ditto with the gravel.
I will be moving to my new home when It finally gets on the grid.
Will you have any type of heat in the cold frame? Just curious, because some day I will at least have a heated structure I can walk into in the depths of winter.Minimum Temp heat that is.

At this point it's unheated. We tend to have mild winters out here, but this past one proved to be quite the exception. Most of my trees are hardy in my zone and the only losses I had were a few trident and Japanese maple seedlings in 4 inch pots. If this next winter is as bad as the last or if I add any more tender trees I will reconsider putting some heat in. With a full time job and three kiddos I only get time to work on trees as night or on weekends, so I usually bring them into the garage so I can be comfortable and take better pictures of my before and afters.

So great to see everyone's new areas, and builds! Awesome collection, I have some easy heat ideas if you need some for your winter storage.
