Hi all
I've had this tree since around 2005, I think I bought it from the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield (England) when it was a lovely stumpy li'l broom style, When it needed repotting it seemed that it disliked the medium that I stuck it's feet in to (Can't recall what the mix was) so it was emergency repotted and it came back from the brink of death! The cigarette ligher will give an idea of size/stumpyness that it was back then..
I ended up with just two branches left which I wired for a leader and first branch!
I saw what appeared to be a small length of steel wire sticking out from the bark and like a prize chump, I got the pliers and pulled it out along with a good portion of the corkbark! It did however remove the square shoulder that was evident when the branches almost fully disappeared!! (Every cloud/silver lining etc!)..
The foliage has filled out some now, For some reason last year the edges of the leaves emerged white in colour, They came out the normal green this year!!
Cheers, John
