Way cool. Any Idea where and what species?

Bill Curthree posted..."You wil find this tree at Horsham church west sussex"

Will Baddeley posted "Bird ham West Sussex I believe"

Undetermined species. Some say it could be C. macrocarpa/Monterey Cypress.

Interesting that the photo labels it as a Monterey Cypress which is native to California.. Wouldn't it be too old for someone to have brought it across the pond?

Maybe not

The UK is great for conifers in general, especially the moist mild maritime climate Monterrey cypress enjoys.

Still that hideous thing looks unnatural to me.

The only thing throwing me...is in the close up. Toward the right side of the image. Everything is sharp and clear...then there is a blurred area. Which makes me pause.

I did ask three people I know in the UK...if they know of this tree. Not sure how near there they live. But...maybe they could ask about.

All the time in my local area I see trees that I wish I could shrink down and fit in a pot. There are at least 10 that I watch for on my drive around the city.
It seems like the trees out in the open- unprotected from nature are my favs. They twist and bend in all the right spots.

I hear ya...I passed one on my way back from a little over an hour away. That I was half tempted to stop and ask the home owner about it. It was in their main area. So I doubt it. But...wind blew it down or unstable roots. So it grew laying on it's side. It was AMAZING!
