Went to a nursery for some garden supplies, came home with this Noble fir. The base really caught my eye. It's 8cm across and flares out really nice.

The upper part of the trunk could use some more movement...

All the branches on the backside will be turned into jin next year.

And oh yeah, Nice start too looks good !
Thanks, Defra. Still need to address some flaws in the future though:

- try to get more movement in the upper portion of the trunk
- develop nebari
- use the branches in the back to create some depth (and jin the rest)
- develop rammification

I was lucky to find a tree with a good basic structure. The most difficult part for me will probably be repotting it next spring. So if anyone has some tips, I'd be glad to hear them :)
