Hi everyone,

Most of you know that I love Kusamono and I'm always on the lookout for good deals. I'm always on ebay looking for a good deal (I know, I know, but they can still be found there). There's an ebay seller who is selling plants that would be perfect for kusamono. Some are common plants some I've never seen before. It's not a huge variety but it's enough to give you a kusamono fix for a while. AND the cool thing is that the plants that are plug size are $1.99 with free shipping. I bought about 12 plants that size. I think the only caveat is that they ask that you buy a minimum of 3 of these plants and then they are at least breaking even with the shipping. They are practically giving these plants away! Here's the store: http://stores.ebay.com/Monkey-Puzzl...Z1QQ_sidZ208017983QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322

Railroad kusamono:

Although this site is aimed at Garden Railroad enthusiasts (talk about bonsai being an eccentric hobby :D), it is full of dwarf plants suitable for accents and even in pot companion plants for bonsai...

Hey Ryan - I even have some of those. Here's a list of companion plants I took to a recent gardening club meeting. I like the black "brass buttons" a lot - it looks like a very dark (almost black) minature fern about 1" tall.

Plumosa Asparagus Fern
Asparagus plumosa

Variegated Sea Campion
Silene uniflora ‘Druett’s Variegated’

Speedwell
Veronica peduncularis ‘Georgia Blue’

Brass Buttons
Leptinella ‘Platt’s Black’
