Long story short I planted a random assortment of seeds I got for my birthday from a seed kit. I really wasn't expecting anything out of it (although I was really hoping the black pines would germinate). To my surprise, one of the black spruce seeds germinated. I live in central Texas, so I'm not sure if the thing can even survive here, but assuming that's possible, what should I do with it now? Should I move it into pumice or bonsai soil? or can anyone lead me to a thread on growing them?

Only do bonsai soil if you have a real shallow container. Otherwise, try to stick with good old soil for now.
With bonsai soil in deep containers you'll be dealing with a huge taproot in a year or two.

I've made that mistake with conifers a couple times too many. My scots pines in 3cm of soil have a insanely awesome root spread. My ponderosa in a 10cm container have 10cm taproots.
