Acer Ginnala New Stock

Got this one on my trip to the city.
I thought it might need chopping down to the first branch and a new top grown but I think I can get it with the plan set out below.

Looks good. This has become one of my favorite species-its really hardy and can take severe root reduction and pruning.It also puts out a lovely show in the fall.

Looks good, but I don't see any growth. Are maples not budding yet in your neck of the woods?
