I picked this Acer rubrum from my yard when it was a seedling. Been wiring it the past couple years. Today I thought it could use a trimming so it could create another flush, and I can wire it some more. Once I'm happy with the flow I plan to put it in the ground for another couple years to thicken up.

I have a couple that look similar. Mine were found that way growing under a fallen cypress. I assisted one with wire for a few weeks this spring but it started to scar so I took it off. Hopefully if let grow for a couple years one of them may make a nice literati.
