Does anyone growing Larch in the northeast or elsewhere have an acidic soil amendment that they can recommend.

I have several Larch growing in my regular inorganic mix 1/3 each of lava, turface and #2 grit. I add about 10% sifted pine bark to this mix and all are thriving.

I've got a couple tamaracks and all I give them is miracle once per week. And once a month I add about 1 tablespoon of Epsom salts. It's the same program as my hinoki cypresses. Also all of my trees are now in completely inorganic soil. Floor dry and a little poultry grit. I adhere to Walter Palls watering and feeding schedule. Water every day and I feed 3 times the strength once per week. He recommends every 10 days for feeding. My trees are doing wonderful and every tree on the same schedule takes the worry of over watering away.

Sorry I meant to say Miracid. It's made by Miracle Gro.

Everyone around here grows larch and no one really does anything special. Tamarack grow too fast in almost any soil mix. If your trees are growing fine I wouldn't worry about trying to lower the pH.

I give my tamarack some osmocoat in the spring. They grow like weeds in soil with some air in soil (compared to glacial clay).

Like bald cypress water too often, or too much, just cause you can.

If you feel you need to add acid, you could put some sphagnum moss and water in a blender and pour the slurry around the trunk.
