I know it's best to soak raffia well before using it when bending branches, but I like some advice on best practices please. Is it best to start making the bends while the raffia is still wet or should I let the raffia dry out before trying any bends?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

First tie 4 or 5 strands together at one end with an overhand knot.
Wrap each bundle of strands up to make them more manageable
Soak in water for 1 hour
Apply to tree
Wrap wire over raffia
Do bends while still wet

When I needed a refresher, this was my go-to for figuring out how to start, tie in a new strand/bunch, and tie off a run.

Great video and thanks for sharing it but unfortunately it ends before the bending stages. Still doesn’t say if he let the raffia dry out or not.
